This English-speaking seminar deals with the history of modern and contemporary administration practices in their relation with state-building and governmentality. Along with theoretical and methodological questions, we will discuss case-studies and approach central issues in the history of public administration.
Students are expected to actively participate in the seminar by reading and understanding the texts, completing the assignments and presenting their paper project during one thematic session (this includes writing an abstract beforehand and autonomously searching for as well as analyzing historical sources).
