This lecture introduces the physics of high-energy particle colliders, with a particular focus on strong-interaction effects. It covers key theoretical concepts, including the operator product expansion and factorisation theorems, as well as the fundamental principles of Monte-Carlo event generators. These concepts are further applied in phenomenological studies at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
