In
today's globally integrated world, most people live and work in environments
that routinely operate across linguistic and cultural domains. This course
unpacks the complexities of societal and individual multilingualism and will
introduce students to a variety of multilingual scenarios and research
methodologies, which will enable them to engage critically with relevant theory
on multilingualism and how it is managed. We will engage with real-world
applications in educational policy, multiple language learning as well as
studying cross-linguistic influence, code-switching and motivational factors
that drive language learning.
