Seminar modules help students gain skills such as conducting research, academic writing, searching scholarly information, and presenting their work. This will prepare them for their Bachelor’ and Master’s theses, and pursue an academic career. Therefore, I am planning a research seminar module on topics related to interaction with automated systems. I will use flipped-classroom approaches, where students are asked to read related publications before and discuss them in the class. Invited talks by researchers and Q&A sessions are another part of this module. Students will be asked to choose a specific topic from a predefined set of topics, conduct a literature survey, write their results, and present them at the end of the semester. Their evaluation will be based on both engagement in the class discussions, as well as their performance in the research project.
