Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. Every winter semester, MUN Siegen (hands-on professional skills programme of the University of Siegen) organises an own hybrid (digital/on site) MUN conference for students from all over the world. 2022 it will take place in Siegen from the 16th to the 19th of November.
This course seeks to accompany the SiegMUN 2022 and thereby attains two goals. First, the students will learn about the history, structure and the working method of the UN. The second goal is to familiarise students with the concept and methods of Model United Nations (MUN) and to prepare them for the conference. After participating in the SiegMUN 2021 conference, the experiences will be reflected together in the seminar.
